Membership Fees

Membership renewals are due on 01 July each year and must be paid before 31 July. Members who do not renew their membership by 31 July will be required to pay the Joining Fee should they wish to re-join the Club. Please note that fees will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances, and an administration charge may apply. The below fee schedule is effective as of 01 April 2016.

The following table outlines the current membership fees:

Joining Fee N/A $80 The joining fee is payable by new members at the time of joining, or by old members who have allowed their membership to lapse
Membership Fee - Full Year June to December $120 This membership fee is only available for members who will be commencing at the Club between July and December, or existing members that are renewing their membership, and provides Club membership until the end of the financial year
Membership Fee - Half Year January to May $60 The membership fee is only available for members who will be commencing at the Club between January and June, and provides Club membership until the end of the current financial year
Activity Fee - Full Year June to December $50 The activity fee covers the cost of training for one dog until the end of the financial year for one activity. Activities include canine companion classes, and dog sport classes (agility, dances with dogs, flyball, obedience trialling, and rally obedience)
Activity Fee - Half Year January to May $25 The activity fee covers the cost of training for one dog until the end of the financial year for one activity. Please note that this half year fee is applicable to canine companion classes only. Dog sports may choose to use this fee at their discretion

Pensioners

We now offer a 25% discount off the joining fee (becomes $60), membership fee (becomes $90 for a full year), and activity fee (becomes $37.50 for a full year) for members who hold a valid pensioners card (not a seniors card). Please note that your card must be sighted by a BDOC Committee member, so members who are entitled to access the discounted rate must lodge their paperwork in person at the BDOC Office.

Examples

A new member is looking to enrol their 5 month old puppy into canine companion classes and will be starting in Session 4 (August). They would be required to pay the joining fee ($80), the full year membership fee ($120), and one activity fee ($50), which is $250 in total.

A family is looking to enrol their new 4 month old puppy as well as their older dog into canine companion classes, and will be starting in Session 1 (January). They would be required to pay the joining fee ($80), the half year membership fee ($60), and two half year activity fees (2 x $25), which is $190 in total.

A new member has just moved to Canberra and wishes to sign their dog up for Dances with Dogs and Obedience Trialling classes, starting in October. They would be required to pay the joining fee ($80), the full year membership fee ($120), and two activity fees (2 x $50), which is $300 in total.

An existing member wishes to renew their membership to continue training their dog in canine companion classes and agility. They would be required to pay the full year membership fee ($120), and two activity fees (2 x $50), which is $220 in total.
